Founded in 1964 by Michel Dufour at La Rochelle. It specialises in cruising monohulls from 32 to 61 feet, drawn with more sail area and a finer entry than most of its competitors, and has kept a performance bias throughout its history. On Adriavela it appears as sail boats and catamarans.
Adriavela lists 751 Dufour boats. They cover 53 separate models, the largest groups being Dufour 41 (85), Dufour 460 Grand Large (85) and Dufour 430 (72). Lengths run from 9.7 to 19.2 metres. Accommodation runs to 1 to 7 cabins and 2 to 15 berths. Build years run from 1999 to 2027.
They are spread across 22 countries, the largest group of them - 232 boats - in Italy. Prices start at €102 a day on a 7-day charter, across the 635 boats that carry a published rate; the rest are quoted on request. A monohull of this size takes a full crew and still handles like a sailing boat, which is what most skippered weeks on this coast are booked for.
