How to Get the Best Experience

A little preparation will help you enjoy a smooth, safe and memorable boat experience. Please review the information below before arriving at the marina.

Arrive Early

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled meeting or check-in time.

Arriving early gives you enough time to:

  • Find the marina, meeting point and your boat
  • Meet the base team or skipper
  • Complete any remaining paperwork
  • Pay the security deposit and any outstanding extras
  • Receive the safety briefing
  • Store your belongings and prepare for departure

Marinas can be large and busy, so please allow extra time for parking and finding the correct meeting point.

Check the Meeting Point

Before travelling, check the marina address, meeting point and local contact details provided in your booking confirmation.

We recommend saving the location on your phone and checking your route in advance. If you cannot find the boat or meeting point, contact the local base using the details in your booking information.

Bring the Required Documents

The person responsible for the booking must bring all documents required for check-in.

Depending on the boat and booking type, these may include:

  • A valid passport or identity card
  • A valid boating licence, where required
  • A VHF licence, where required
  • Your booking confirmation
  • Any additional documents mentioned in your booking information

Please make sure all documents are valid. Bring the original versions where required.

Prepare for the Security Deposit and Base Payments

A refundable security deposit may be required before departure. Check your booking confirmation for the exact amount and accepted payment methods.

You may also need to pay for services or extras marked as payable at base, including:

  • Final cleaning
  • Fuel
  • Tourist or local taxes
  • Transit log
  • Bed linen or towels
  • Skipper or crew services
  • Optional equipment
  • Other selected extras

Please bring a valid payment card with sufficient available funds. Some bases may accept cash, but available payment methods can vary.

What to Bring

Bring comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and conditions at sea.

We recommend bringing:

  • Swimwear
  • A towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • A hat or cap
  • Comfortable non-slip shoes
  • A light jacket or windproof layer
  • Drinking water
  • Personal medication
  • A waterproof bag for phones and valuables

Soft travel bags are usually easier to store on board than large hard-shell suitcases.

Arrive Sober and Ready for a Safe Trip

All guests must arrive sober.

Alcohol and other intoxicating substances can affect balance, judgement and reaction time, creating a serious safety risk on the boat and around the marina.

For the safety of everyone on board, guests who appear intoxicated may not be permitted to board or participate in the trip.

Any alcohol consumed during the experience must be enjoyed responsibly and in accordance with the skipper’s instructions and local regulations.

Listen to the Safety Briefing

Before departure, the skipper or base team will explain the most important safety information.

Please listen carefully, even if you already have boating experience. The briefing may include:

  • Life jacket locations
  • Emergency procedures
  • Safe movement around the boat
  • Correct use of onboard equipment
  • Swimming rules
  • Weather and route information
  • Instructions for children
  • Local navigation rules

All guests must follow the instructions of the skipper or base team throughout the experience.

Check the Weather

Weather conditions at sea can change quickly. Check the forecast before travelling and bring suitable clothing.

The route, departure time or duration of the experience may need to change for safety reasons. The skipper and base team will always make the final decision based on current conditions.

Tell Us About Important Requirements

Before departure, inform the skipper or base team about:

  • Medical conditions that may affect the experience
  • Allergies
  • Mobility requirements
  • Pregnancy
  • Young children travelling
  • Guests who cannot swim
  • Any other safety-related concerns

This information helps the team prepare and provide a safer experience for everyone.

Respect the Boat and Crew

Please treat the boat, equipment, crew and marina with care. Follow all onboard rules and avoid actions that could damage the boat or put other guests at risk.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children throughout the experience.

Before You Leave

Make sure you have:

  • Confirmed the meeting time and location
  • Planned to arrive at least 30 minutes early
  • Packed swimwear and suitable clothing
  • Prepared all required documents
  • Checked the security deposit amount
  • Checked all extras payable at base
  • Prepared an accepted payment method
  • Shared the safety information with all guests
  • Confirmed that everyone will arrive sober

Good preparation means less time spent at check-in and more time enjoying your boat experience.

We look forward to welcoming you on board.
