The Bavaria 40 is a sail boat from Bavaria. Founded in 1978 at Giebelstadt in Bavaria, the yard builds on a series production line unusual in boatbuilding. It specialises in cruising monohulls from 34 to 57 feet and a smaller range of motor yachts, and is one of the main suppliers to Mediterranean charter fleets. Hulls on charter here measure 11.8 to 13 metres. It sleeps up to 8.
Adriavela lists 12 boats of this model. They were built between 2003 and 2013, so the layout and the equipment differ from one hull to the next. The hulls here carry 1 to 3 cabins and 2 to 8 berths.
They leave from bases up and down the coast, Nikiana Marina, Alimos Marina and Port of Lefkas among them. A 7-day charter starts at €1,350, which is €192 a day. 3 of them are quoted on request. A monohull of this size takes a full crew and still handles like a sailing boat, which is what most skippered weeks on this coast are booked for.
