Getting there
By air. Bodrum-Milas Airport (BJV) is about 35 km — 40–50 minutes by taxi or transfer, with direct flights from across Europe in season. By ferry. Ferries from Kos cross in under an hour to the harbour by the castle. By road and bus. Intercity coaches from Istanbul and Izmir stop at the bus station near the marina; paid parking in the marina.
Bodrum before you cast off
The Castle of St Peter, with the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, stands between the two harbours; the ruins of the Mausoleum and the ancient theatre are in the town, and the bar street and the bazaar behind the marina. Yalıkavak and its marina are 20 minutes across the peninsula; the Gümüşlük fishing village at its tip is the evening out.
The Friday market and supermarkets are within walking distance of the marina; the marina has a supermarket, chandlers and a fuel dock.

Saturday — Bodrum → Orak island or Çökertme (15 nm). East into the Gulf of Gökova for a first night at the Orak anchorage or the restaurant pontoons of Çökertme.
