Skradin is a river town at the top of the Krka channel, twelve kilometres inland from Šibenik, at the gate of the Krka national park: ACI Marina Skradin is the last stop before the waterfalls. A charter from here begins with two hours of flat-water motoring down the channel to the sea, past Šibenik and the St Nicholas fortress — an unusual and very calm start — and then the Šibenik archipelago and the Kornati are open.
Getting there
By air. Split Airport (SPU) is about 70 km — one hour and a quarter by taxi; Zadar Airport (ZAD) about 65 km. By road. The A1 exit Skradin is ten minutes from the marina — the closest motorway exit of any Dalmatian charter base. Parking through the marina. By bus. Buses from Šibenik run to Skradin several times a day.
Skradin before you cast off
Skradinski Buk, the main Krka waterfall, is a half-hour walk or a free boat-bus from the town; the town itself is a street of stone houses under a hill fort, with restaurants on the quay. Šibenik’s cathedral is 20 minutes by road.
A supermarket in the town and the marina shop; fuel in Šibenik at Mandalina.
