Can I take a boat out for just one day?
Yes — 41 boats here accept a single-day booking. A day rate is quoted for the specific boat and date, so pick your day on the boat’s own page and the price comes back live.
What is not in the price?
The figure is for the boat. Transit log, tourist tax and the APA are mandatory, set per boat, and paid at the base. Skipper, hostess, extra equipment and other services are optional and also settled at the base.
Why do some boats show no price?
85 of the 809 boats from Alimos Marina are on request — usually larger or crewed yachts, where the rate depends on the week and the crew. They are left out of every figure above.
How far is the airport from Alimos Marina?
The nearest airport is Athens Airport (ATH), about 20 km away as the crow flies; Skiathos Airport (JSI) is about 140 km. Transfer times by road are longer; most charter companies arrange a transfer to the base on request.
Do I need a licence to charter bareboat in Greece?
Yes. Greek rules require a recognised skipper’s certificate and a second crew member with sailing experience declared on the crew list; the base checks the papers at handover. Without them, a skipper is booked as an extra on the boat page.
What day do charters start?
Weekly charters run Saturday to Saturday: handover from 17:00 on Saturday, return to the base by the evening before and check-out by 9:00 on Saturday morning. Day charters start in the morning from the same quays.
Where can I sail in a week from Athens?
The Saronic gulf: Aegina, Poros, Hydra and Spetses are each a few hours apart with a harbour town every night, and the Argolic coast of the Peloponnese beyond them. The Cyclades need two weeks or a strong crew in the meltemi season.
Is the meltemi a problem from Athens?
Hardly in the Saronic, which the mainland shelters; it matters once you pass Sounion into the Cyclades, where July and August bring force six to seven for days at a time.
