Getting there
By air. Athens Airport (ATH) is about 35 km from Alimos — 35–45 minutes by taxi or transfer along the Attiki Odos and the coast; the X96 express bus runs from the airport along the coast road past the marina. By metro and tram. The tram from Syntagma square runs along the coast to the Kalamaki stop opposite the marina; the metro reaches Piraeus and the airport. By road. The marina is on Poseidonos avenue in Alimos; parking inside the marina is paid and limited in season, arranged through the charter company.
Athens before you cast off
The Acropolis and its museum, the Plaka and the Ancient Agora are half a day from the marina by tram and metro; Sounion’s temple of Poseidon, on the cape the boats round to the Cyclades, is an hour down the coast by road. The Athens Riviera between Alimos and Vouliagmeni has the beaches and the evening restaurants. Piraeus, the ferry port, is fifteen minutes north of the marina.
Supermarkets are across the coast road from Alimos and the larger ones deliver to the marina gate; the marina has chandlers, cafés and a fuel station on the quay. The central market in Athens is the place for fresh fish and meat if the crew has a morning.
