Catamarans in Seychelles
Catamarans are nearly the whole Seychelles fleet, based at Eden Island and Victoria on Mahé with a few on Praslin. The inner islands are granite, close together and surrounded by reef, so a week from Mahé is Praslin, La Digue, Curieuse and the Sainte Anne marine park, with Silhouette to the north for a longer trip. The Seychelles sail all year: the north-west monsoon from November to March is hot and calm, the south-east trade from May to September is cooler and windier, with April and October the quiet changeover months.
Marine park fees are paid per person per day and a skipper is booked on most charters, for the reef navigation as much as the mooring. Leopard, Lagoon and Bali from 40 to 52 feet make up the fleet.
