Catamarans in Italy
Catamarans in Italy are concentrated in Sardinia and Sicily, where there is room to anchor: the La Maddalena archipelago and the Corsican strait from Olbia and Cannigione, the Aeolian islands and the north coast from Portorosa and Milazzo, and the Egadi islands from Trapani. Around Naples and Amalfi the multihulls are day boats. Lagoon and Bali from 40 to 46 feet are the majority; six-cabin boats with crew are based in Olbia and Portisco.
La Maddalena is a national park with a permit and mooring rules; the Aeolians are buoys and deep anchorages where a catamaran's draught and beam are an advantage. Prices are per week without fuel, marina fees or the park permit.
