Gulets in Italy
Gulets in Italy, called caicchi, are crewed wooden motorsailers based in Sicily and around the Aeolian islands, from Milazzo, Portorosa and Palermo, with a few on the Amalfi coast for day charters. A week is the seven Aeolian islands: Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Panarea and Stromboli with its evening eruptions, on full or half board with captain and cook. Cabin charters on shared boats are the cheapest way aboard.
