Gulets in Croatia
Gulets in Croatia are crewed wooden motorsailers of 20 to 35 metres, most built in Turkey and some in Croatia, based in Split, Trogir and Dubrovnik. They are booked whole for a group or by the cabin on a fixed route, with captain, cook and deckhand aboard and full or half board included. The week is the Dalmatian islands at a slow pace: Hvar, Vis, Korčula, Mljet and the Elaphiti, with a swim stop each morning and a harbour each night.
Cabins are usually eight to twelve, each with its own bathroom; the price is per week for the whole boat or per person on a cabin charter, plus the port taxes and, on some boats, a fuel and food allowance. The season is May to October and the best boats in July and August go months ahead.
